Joel joined Trophic Communications as a Senior Account Executive after working in the life science industry for over a decade, principally in conference production and later science illustration and animation. Having successfully managed project and personnel teams, not least as a Conference Director for Cambridge Healthtech Institute, Joel has produced on events ranging up to tens of thousands of attendees, including World Pharma Week Boston, Immuno-Oncology Summit Europe and CPhI Worldwide. Alongside his conference production work, Joel was awarded an MSc in Molecular Biology from the University of Potsdam in 2020, which incorporated science illustration and animation projects. In 2020, Joel founded a studio creating accurate and appealing life science illustrations and animations. At Trophic, Joel supports our clients by providing tailored visual content, a broad range of media materials and an array of PR and IR services.

Aside from his professional endeavours, Joel enjoys traveling, walking his dog Bailey and all things rugby, whether he is coaching, playing, or watching the professionals play live. His travels have included Australia, New Zealand, and attending the Rugby World Cup in Japan in 2019. Bailey is Joel’s black cockapoo and is currently hatching an evil plan to replace Bean as Trophic’s most adorable fluff ball.
